Doel - Belgium

The village of Doel, close to the nuclear power plant
named after it, is nowadays largely depopulated
because there are plans to dig a new dock for
the port of Antwerp on this spot. Less than 200
people remain of the 1300 who lived there two decades
ago. There still is a protest movement against the
planned demolition of the village.
